For UFO Display Solutions (on behalf of Procter and Gamble) AUSTRALIAWIDE recently installed 181 Olay Skincare stands in a national rollout of Priceline pharmacies and stores. 137 of these were single bay units and 44 were double bay units.
The single bay unit were 895mm wide x 1635mm high x 395mm deep and 75kg so they were definitely two person jobs. The double bay units were comprised of two single bay units so they were even heavier and needed to be mounted on a plinth or platform before hand. Part of the job also involved removing the existing display stand from the stores and disposing of them. Most of these were metal and ended up with scrap metal recyclers.
We started the rollout in metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne in November, paused for December’s Christmas trading, and then completed it across the rest of the country in January – February. We used a total of 50 two-person crews for 137 metropolitan and 44 regional stores spread from Cairns in Queensland to Albany in Western Australia. Apart from a few issues caused by the transporters, the whole operation went super smoothly and was a credit to all of the company personnel and contractors involved.
